But Not Too Foreign: Like Tsuna, Iemitsu is a descendant of the first Vongola boss, who was Italian.Amazingly Embarrassing Parents: Which is partly why Tsuna isn't too cut up about him being a nonexistent entity in his life.Disappearing for how long, only to return and force his son (who only wants to lead a normal life) to become a Mafia crime lord who will be targeted by countless assassins? Tsuna is not amused by this and doesn't even want to acknowledge him as his father. Abusive Parents: Of the "neglect" variety.Tsuna's elusive father, who everyone believes is either dead or working in some far-off oil field. The staff makes him look like a typical don as well. Simple Staff: He uses this as his weapon to channel his flames.Outliving One's Offspring: His outliving all three of his biological sons is what kicks off the plot.Old Soldier: He was able to fight off Xanxus and Squalo by himself eight years before the Varia arc.Even before that, where he ordered Tsuna to capture Mukuro who is a high profile criminal to jump start his abilities.
Manipulative Bastard: Subtle, but he knows that Tsuna will reject being the position of Decimo, so he used his admiration of Primo and his friends as reason to take up the position and lets him think about it. Hostage Situation: Was kidnapped by his own adopted son and used as a battery for Gola Mosca, with the added caveat of blaming Tsuna for his death when the robot was destroyed. Thankfully, he is quite a benevolent man who wants to return the Vongola Family to its roots and wishes for Tsuna to take up Primo's mantle for this reason. The Don: The current head of the Vongola Family. 
Tsuna is even surprised that he does not act like a typical mobster.
Cool Old Guy: He is seen as tending flowers in his home and is very relaxed around people. And he is one to his men as he is pretty much respected by his men. Benevolent Boss: Adopted Xanxus as his own son even after knowing that they are not blood related. Badass in a Nice Suit: Can kick ass in his striped suit. An Ice Person: His Zero Point Breakthrough: First Edition. Authority Equals Asskicking: Certainly kicks Xanxus' ass when he decided to coup against him. Certainly ordering Dino to kill Gokudera when he fails his test in the promotion chapter counts as this. Affably Evil: Not to say that he is a villain, but he is still The Don of the bloodiest mafia family and implied to have shed blood. Xanxus later kidnapped him and sealed him inside Gola Mosca, almost leading to his death at Tsuna's hands. When Xanxus tries to stage a coup, he freezes Xanxus and chooses Tsuna as his successor. The current Boss, and adoptive father of Xanxus. Vongola Terzo Voiced by: N/AThird head of the Vongola. Tall, Dark, and Handsome: Looks like a much more refined Xanxus. Short Hair with Tail: That he ties with a ponytail. And nothing is explained as how, since Tsuna and Primo are at least in the same bloodline. Generation Xerox: Basically, Xanxus is pretty much identical to him in looks and personality. Energy Ball: He can use the flames of wrath similar to Xanxus. He's basically responsible for the Family's fall from grace. According to the Ninth, the Vongola started getting more and more violent following his take over and have been going downhill ever since. 
Bad Boss: He's revealed (from what little we know of him) to be almost identical to Xanxus in personality-which can only mean one thing: He's one hell of a Bad Boss.First holder of the Flame of Wrath, which Xanxus also possesses. Unlike Giotto, he was very violent and ruled through fear.
